Michelle May, Sydney buyers agent since 2008

Michelle May has been a buyers agent since 2008. She founded Michelle May Buyers Agents in 2017, an independent Sydney agency, licensed in NSW, that only ever acts for the buyer. The agency was named winner of Outstanding Real Estate Buyers Agent at the 2026 Inner West Local Business Awards, and clients rate the team 5.0 across 156 Google reviews.

Who Michelle buys for

First home buyers, upsizers and downsizers, whether buying solo, as a couple or returning from overseas, with budgets from $800,000 to $3m and over. The team buys across Sydney, with a focus on the Inner West and the Eastern Suburbs.

Michelle understands what’s at stake. She’s been a solo buyer herself, and has built her life in Australia since arriving in 2007. She works with clients in Dutch, English, French and German.

How she works

  • One flat fee, quoted on complexity, never on the price you pay.

  • Paid only by you, and no one else. No referral fees, no commissions.

  • No competing briefs. She won’t take on another buyer looking for the same kind of home in the same area.

Finding is the easy part. It’s what happens next that matters.

Michelle

Born in the Netherlands, Michelle spent her early years in North Africa and moved to the UK at 20. She worked for twelve years as a long-haul purser with British Airways, and began renovating and reselling property at 22, a hands-on start that still shapes how she reads a home.

Many buyers come to her stuck in what she calls the confusion loop: emotion, too much advice, overwhelm and delay. Her job is to break it. She also created Better Home Buying, an online course for buyers who want a clear strategy before they start.

Nicola

Nicola’s interest in property stemmed from the search for a warehouse to convert to a residence in 1986. In the period that followed she pursued her passion for art and architecture working in various roles in those industries.

In 2008 Nicola entered the real estate industry selling apartments designed by renowned architects such as Norman Foster & Jean Nouvel.  This experience reaffirmed the importance of light and proportions of our built environment which lead to the study of Feng Shui offering a fuller understanding of space and potential of our residential environments.

Over time she became increasingly interested in facilitating the search for the right property for buyers in the market. Using her fine tuned skills of negotiation and research to achieve the best possible outcome for our buyers, is where you'll find Nicola in her element.

Nicola is a minimalist at heart, with a continued interest in the arts, design and architecture. You'll be in good hands with Nicola by your side.

Kate

Kate’s love of property started early, purchasing her first apartment in Darlinghurst just out of her teens. Since then, she’s been the trusted go-to for family and friends navigating the Sydney property market, drawn not just to the bricks and mortar, but to the way a home can shape the lives of those who live in it.

Having lived, bought and sold in the Eastern Suburbs, Inner City and Inner West, Kate brings a deep, firsthand knowledge of Sydney’s most sought after neighbourhoods. Her professional background includes years of experience in property research, inspections, appraisals, and supporting buyers through negotiation skills she now brings to her role as Client Relationships Officer.

Kate has an eye for detail, a calm, confident approach, and a genuine passion for helping people find the place they can truly call home.

Eadie

Eadie joined Michelle May Buyers Agents in early 2025. Having completed her Certificate of Registration, Eadie supports our team with in depth research and due diligence, ensuring that no stone is left unturned when it comes to finding the right property for our clients, making her an invaluable part of the team.

Outside of work, you'll find Eadie enjoying time with her family, fur babies, heading to the beach, planning her next travel adventure or even stepping onto the stage to perform.

Tiziana

Tiziana brings over 12 years of experience across real estate sales and marketing, offering a well-rounded understanding of how property is positioned, presented and negotiated in the market.

Working within the buyers’ agency team, she supports the research and coordination process that underpins each purchase.

With a structured and detail-driven approach, Tiziana plays a key role in ensuring every stage of the buying process is managed with clarity, consistency and care.

What we stand for

How we look after you

  • Nobody on our team looks after more than four clients at a time. You get proper attention, not a place in a queue.

  • We won’t take on a new client who’d be looking for the same kind of home, in the same area, as someone we’re already buying for. Your search is never quietly shared.

  • Our fee is flat and agreed up front. It doesn’t go up because the property cost more.

  • We don’t pay or receive referral fees, commissions or kickbacks. From anyone. Not from selling agents, mortgage brokers, conveyancers, developers or anyone else, and we don’t pay anyone to send you our way. The only money we earn is the fee you pay us.

  • You get our Section 47 disclosure on day one, with your agency agreement. It’s the document where a buyers agent declares any referral fees or commissions they’ll receive. Some hand it over just before contract, when you’re too far in to walk away. You should always have it the day you sign, so you can decide with everything on the table.
